Premium Cactus Mix (1 Gal.)

I began offering this mix in the year 2020.

Fills 14 small pots 3"x3"x3" to brim (6.4 lbs).

Small-batch premium quality cactus media with 18 components in total. Made up of 88% inorganic mineral components and 12% organic components.

It contains a specific ratio of pumice, akadama, turface mvp, black and red lava rock, haydite, and a hint of mother earth organic soil. It also contains 2 secret mycorrhizal powders I make myself with organic materials, 2 secret inorganic components, osmocote fertilizer, and recharge to renew the soil. Both mycorrhizal powders encourage root growth, help to increase the overall production of flowers and seeds, and help to retain nutrients.

This is an extremely permeable/well-draining mix for cactus and any other drought tolerant plants. Each inorganic component has been selected through trial and error to work wonders for the widest variety of drought tolerant plants that one mix will allow. If you need to make it more organic, simply add soil as needed. Some genera will require more organic material than others, or you might need to use more organic material depending on where you live.

I sift all of the components multiple times prior to mixing (a little powder is normal). Then I toss in a pinch of garden lime.. some sulfur and gypsum for proper pH and to prevent compact soil.. collected kelp to enhance nutrient uptake.. fungicide/disease granules.. and insecticide granules.. And wala!

This premium cactus mix is ready to use for genera such as Ariocarpus, Astrophytum, Aztekium, Coryphantha, Echinocactus, Epithelantha, Escobaria, Ferocactus, Frailea, Geohintonia, Lophophora, Mammillaria, Opuntia, Pediocactus, Pelecyphora, Thelocactus, Turbinicarpus, and others.

My mix works well with all cacti and succulents (and basically all xerophytes and geophytes). If the genera you are planting requires more organic material, simply add your desired soil. For example, you will need to add 40% soil for Trichocereus! I suggest adding Mother Earth or Fox Farm soil, but anything will work!

My soil will last for many years and even decades. Vinegar will lengthen the duration.
